The Cubs have hired Rudy Jaramillo as their hitting coach this past week. I personally am very happy about this for obvious reasons. The Cubs offense just didn't produce like they were expected this past season and that is a big reason why they finished the season with only eighty-three wins and in second place behind the Cardinals. Jaramillo has been the hitting coach for the Texas Rangers for many years, producing many great hitters out in the majors today. Jaramillo was the hitting coach of Cubs outfielder Milton Bradley while he was with Texas for the one year in which he had an OPS of .999. My hope is, reuniting with this hitting coach will 'fix' Bradley as well as every other hitter on the Cubs roster that struggled during the 2009 season.
